Toshiba's Computer Systems Group will showcase its newest wireless initiatives at this year's CTIA Wireless show in New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded , booth #4767. These will include the recently announced Toshiba Toshiba Corporation (株式会社東芝 Kabushiki-gaisha Tōshiba  wireless broadband High-speed wireless transmission of data. What is "high" speed is always a changing number. Wireless systems are typically slower than land-based, wireline networks. In the past, wireless broadband started at 250 Kbps, whereas land-based broadband was generally considered to start at T1  hotspot (1) The geographic boundary covered by a Wi-Fi (802.11) wireless access point. Typically set up for Internet access, anyone entering the hotspot with a Wi-Fi-based laptop can connect to the Internet, providing the access point is configured to advertise its presence and  solution and a new technology enabling the convergence of data and voice over wireless LANs See voice over Wi-Fi. .
-- Toshiba Wireless Broadband Hotspots - Toshiba has launched its hotspot solution and is working with Accenture, the world's leading management consulting and technology services company, to provide infrastructure support for this initiative. Toshiba's demonstration at CTIA Wireless will highlight the use of wireless connectivity in public spaces and also demonstrate how Toshiba is working with Accenture on the back end system for the company's hotspot solution.

-- Voice and Data Convergence over Wireless LANs - Toshiba will be highlighting a technology demonstration of their Mobility Communications Systems, the seamless operation of network applications and voice communication. It easily integrates with an existing PBX to add VoIP user capabilities. This future offering will combine Toshiba's technology and infrastructure with Accenture's customized solutions to meet the needs of customers using data and voice applications over wireless LANs with their mobile client devices.
