. The study will evaluate the VoteHere.net system for future use as well as gather public opinion on the use of Internet voting as an alternative method for casting ballots. The election will allow voters to cast ballots from home, office or at selected conventional polling sites during the Washington State's Presidential Primary.

WHAT: Thurston County Preference Presidential Primary.

Thurston county voters will participate in the first ever

county-wide Internet voting test for a presidential election.

WHEN: Tuesday, February 29, 2000

Remote voting from February 12th to February 29th

Poll-site voting on February 29th -only- from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00

p.m.

WHERE: Remote voting from any location where a computer with an

Internet connection is available.

Poll-site voting at ten conventional poll-sites on election day.

WHO: 120,000 Thurston County registered voters. Election conducted by

the Thurston County Auditor's office under the direction of Sam (1) (Security Accounts Manager) The part of Windows NT that manages the database of usernames, passwords and permissions. A SAM resides in each server as well as in each domain controller. See PDC and trust relationship.
