USC's Integrated Media Systems Center The Integrated Media Systems Center (IMSC) is on the campus of the University of Southern California, USA. ) will demonstrate a major breakthrough in the development of a three-dimensional experience via the Internet on Thursday, May 9, 2002. Remote Media Immersion (RMI (Remote Method Invocation) A standard from Sun for distributed objects written in Java. RMI is a remote procedure call (RPC), which allows Java objects (software components) stored in the network to be run remotely. ) brings an extra dimension to traditionally "flat" Internet and broadcast media technologies.

        Demonstrations and briefings will run in 30-minute cycles.
        Priority will be given to camera crews to meet noon news
        deadlines.
