What: Spirit Airlines is "flying" 25 children, ages 4 to 14, and
their families from Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital to
the North Pole to visit Santa Claus.
Who: Fort Lauderdale's hometown airline, Spirit Airlines.
When: Please arrive by 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2003.
The aircraft will "take off" at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Spirit's North Pole Check-In Area, Terminal 4, Gate H3

Photo/Video Opportunities: Children onboard Spirit's holiday plane during the "flight," Santa and Mrs. Claus, fire trucks and water cascades, plus children with gifts. Media Notes: Proceed to Spirit's ticket counter in Terminal 4 and ask for Spirit Station Manager Bob Cone or his assistant, Rick Reitz. They will escort you to Spirit's North Pole Check-In area. Here Comes Santa Claus - Event Outline: -- Costumed greeters will entertain children as they wait to board the plane. Once onboard, the flight attendant will request passengers to pull down the shades in preparation for "take-off." -- Everyone will sing holiday songs as the plane "taxis down the runway for the flight" to the North Pole. Upon "landing," Santa Claus will meet the plane atop a fire truck spraying a celebratory water cascade. -- Santa and Mrs. Claus will then escort the children to a winter wonderland inside the airport for a holiday party. Festive food and fun will follow with every child receiving a special gift, courtesy of Spirit Airlines. |
