UCLA/Orthopaedic Hospital Center for Cerebral Palsy cerebral palsy (sərē`brəl pôl`zē), disability caused by brain damage before or during birth or in the first years, resulting in a loss of voluntary muscular control and coordination.  


WHAT:   "Lessons in Life," an evening of great music and fine food
        benefiting the UCLA/Orthopaedic Hospital Center for Cerebral
        Palsy, will feature food-tasting presented by Guy Gabriele and
        courtesy of the South Bay's finest restaurants including Chez
        Melange, Zazou, The Bottle Inn, Legacy, and Cafe Pierre, and
        an impressive collection of wine-tasting arranged by Jim Ford
        of The Wine Warehouse. In addition, Trader Joe's will provide
        a complimentary martini bar. Following a performance by
        critically-acclaimed jazz artist Daniel Ho, guests will be
        treated to a live auction that will be highlighted with a
        hockey stick autographed by the entire Mighty Ducks team.

        Cerebral palsy is a non-progressive disorder of motion and
        posture due to an injury to the brain during its early
        development. The UCLA/Orthopaedic Hospital Center for Cerebral
        Palsy is dedicated to improving function among children and
        adults with cerebral palsy through an interdisciplinary
        program of diagnosis, comprehensive assessment, and
        individualized treatment. The goal is to make the latest
        medical advances available to all patients.
