Francisco(TM) Barbie(R) doll

Why: The collaboration between See's Candies, Mattel and the SFCVB
was a natural. See's has been a San Francisco tradition since
1936. The recent Special Edition See's Barbie was an instant
hit. The SFCVB owns the rights to the phrase "I Left My Heart
In San Francisco" (the phrase only, not the song). When
Richard Van Doren of See's introduced Cindy Gaspara, manager
of sales at Mattel, to Brian Baker, vice president of
marketing for the SFCVB, a doll was born. This special event
is being held at The Fairmont San Francisco because this was
the first place that Tony Bennett ever performed the signature
song, "I Left My Heart In San Francisco." The Fairmont San
Francisco will celebrate the upcoming holiday season with I
Left My Heart in San Francisco(tm) Barbie(R) doll afternoon
teas for children.
The See's I Left My Heart in San Francisco(TM) Barbie(R) doll
will be only available at See's Candies stores, at the SFCVB
Visitor Information Center in Hallidie Plaza and at
www.sfvisitor.org. Other limited distribution may develop but
you won't find this doll at Target or Toys R Us!
RSVP: Writers, editors, columnists and photographers are invited!
