(Nov. 15, 2000) --(BUSINESS WIRE) EVENT: The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia begins the holiday season with its annual Holiday Kick-Off Event. The Salvation Army's Divisional Commander Lt. Colonel William Carlson and local Salvation Army Officers will ring in the holiday season with the Salvation Army's Children's Choir and the Salvation Army Brass Ensemble at this year's kick-off celebration. This year's campaign, "Hope for the Holidays," plans to reach more than 10,000 families and 40,000 individuals, including 30,000 children, this holiday season in the form of food, clothing, and toys. In addition to the various holiday programs including The Joy of Sharing Toy Drive, Kids for Kids Stocking Stuffers, Adopt-a-Family, Project Bundle-Up, and Angel Tree, The Salvation Army hopes to raise $3.25 million this season to bring hope to our region's neediest citizens during the holidays and through a comprehensive range of programs all year round.
