EVENT          The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia will host a
               "Victory Celebration" for its 2002 Hope for the
               Holidays Campaign.  The holiday campaign raised funds
               for year-round programs, specifically for individuals
               in need for the holiday season.

               The Salvation Army will honor a number of volunteers
               and area businesses for their work during the campaign.
               Among those being honored are SuperFresh, Americhoice,
               Wolf Block Schorr & Solis-Cohen, The Art Institute,
               GMAC Mortgage, PGW, Preferred Real Estate Investments,
               Krispy Kreme, CIGNA, Pennsylvania Ballet, Girl Scouts
               of South Eastern Pennsylvania, Verizon, Prudential
               Securities, The Restaurant School, Daimler-Chrysler
               Dealerships and the Keswick Theatre.

LOCATION:      Friday, January 17, 2003
               3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
               Salvation Army Headquarters
               701 N. Broad Street (Broad and Fairmount Sts.)
               Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

ATTENDEES:     Tom Negovan, CBS3 Eyewitness News Anchor will serve as
               Master of Ceremonies Captains Jorge and Edelweiss Diaz,
               City Coordinators, Salvation Army Representatives from
               corporate sponsors Volunteers

ADDITIONAL
DETAILS:       "Hope for the Holidays" funds were raised through
               kettle collections, direct mail and other campaign
               activities.  Monies collected allowed The Salvation
               Army to touch the lives of thousands of area residents.
               The funds went to several children and families in the
               form of new toys and stockings for area children, food
               boxes for several families, numerous coats/clothing
               being distributed and holiday meals being served.



In case of snow, the event will be rescheduled for January January: see month.  24th at 3:00 p.m.
