EVENT:              The Salvation Army begins the holiday season
                    with its annual holiday kick-off - only this year,
                    it's got a different flavor to it.

                    Media personalities from local television stations
                    and area newspapers will be on hand to cook up
                    soups, stews and chili for The Salvation Army's
                    Hope for the Holidays Kettle Cook-Off.

                    This year's holiday campaign plans to reach more
                    than 10,000 families and 40,000 individuals,
                    including 30,000 children, this holiday season in
                    the form of meals, clothing, holiday stockings and
                    toys. In addition to the various holiday programs
                    The Salvation Army hopes to raise $3.5 million
                    this season to bring hope to our region's neediest
                    citizens during the holidays and throughout the
                    year.

                    Representatives from ARAMARK Corporation and
                    Preferred Real Estate Investments will be on hand
                    to deliver sizable corporate contributions.
