ADVISORY/The SNIA-E and Computerworld Announce That the Storage Networking World - Eurostorage Conference is to Take Place From June 5th to 7th 2002 At the Noga Hilton Hotel in Cannes.

Business Editors/High Tech Writers

ADVISORY ... for Wed. through Fri. (June 5-7)

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 2002

Managing Data Growth - Theory and Practice

Industrial enterprises and medium sized companies are to continue to invest in storage technology, especially in times when IT budgets are tight.

Decision makers want to ensure that they are making the right choice. Critical questions to be answered are: Can storage-components already existing be integrated in new storage solutions? Do producers of storage networks really offer open systems or does the customer enter into a fatal dependency? How long does it take to amortise investments and what about the cost of maintenance?

The trade conference, Storage Networking World Storage Networking World (commonly called SNW) is a for data storage professionals in the United States. Sponsored by Computerworld and the Storage Networking Industry Association, SNW is held twice each year.  - Eurostorage, is a manufacturer-independent source of information and thus delivers well-founded knowledge. The conference provides objective answers to strategic and critical questions. In the USA, Storage Networking World, has been an established forum for many years and demonstrates the possibilities as well as the limits of storage-technology to the business audience. Last year in September, Storage Networking World - Eurostorage, premiered in Europe at Seville and attracted over 400 registered participants.

The European trade conference is not just a simple transfer of the US event, but focuses on the very special demands of European corporate clients. European user case studies, like Barclays Bank PLC and Amadeus Data Processing data processing or information processing, operations (e.g., handling, merging, sorting, and computing) performed upon data in accordance with strictly defined procedures, such as recording and summarizing the financial transactions of a  GmbH will not only report on their successful introduction of storage-technology but also talk about how they coped with the challenges they faced.

The expert panel will provide examples of Return Of Investment (ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot). ) models based on precise examples, thus providing IT-decision makers with well-founded arguments to push urgently required IT projects.

In addition to the user workshops, there will be an Interoperability Lab to demonstrate the level of compatibility with different supplier components and how a co-operation can be achieved. Technically oriented decision makers can prove manufacturer's claims on site and verify together with their CFOs, whether a solution is affordable as well as future-proof. On June 4th complementary technical tutorials of the SNIA-E will take place and cover topics such as storage management and security.

Michel Grosbost, Chairman of SNIA-Europe states: "Storage Networking World - Eurostorage, offers an unique insight to the vast range of data storage solutions. There have also been very positive reactions from the industry to establish an independent conference for Europe."

Grosbost added: "This year in Cannes we will be able to offer even more. We have gathered suggestions from participants who attended the conference last year and as a result, we feel we have created an event that meets the specific interests of European participants. Amongst other things, we will have more CTOs involved in the panel discussions, exemplifying the implementation of storage networks."

Featured speakers include:
- John McArthur, Vice President Worldwide Storage Research, IDC

- Charles Inches, IT Director, Service Delivery & Infrastructure Architecture,
Corner Bank

- Steve Duplessie, Founder & Senior Analyst, Enterprise Storage Group

- Michael Brown, Chairman/CEO Quantum
