WHO: Recording SoundTable panelists include:
-- Art Alexakis -- (Moderator) Singer, songwriter and producer
of the GRAMMY-nominated band Everclear
-- Neal Avron -- Engineer, mixer and co-producer behind
Everclear's "So Much for the Afterglow" and its new release
"Songs From an American Movie, Vol. 1 -- Learning How to
Smile."
-- Matt Serletic -- Producer behind Santana's GRAMMY-winning
single "Smooth" from the album "Supernatural."
-- Dave Thoener -- GRAMMY-winning mixer for Santana's
"Smooth."
-- Glen Ballard -- Five-time GRAMMY-winning songwriter and
producer, Ballard recently completed work with the rock
band No Doubt.
-- Alain Johannes -- Engineer, producer and guitar/vocalist of
the L.A. trio band Eleven. Recently, Johannes engineered No
Doubt's album "Return of Saturn," as well as produced the
original soundtrack for the summer hit "Mission
Impossible 2."
-- Lars Fox -- Began his music career as a singer and
percussionist whose interests and aptitudes moved quickly
into the technical side of recording. Fox has worked with
bands including Hanson, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks and The
Verve Pipe.
-- Jack Joseph Puig -- Highly regarded producer, engineer and
mixer, Puig most recently produced "Legacy: A Tribute to
Fleetwood Mac's Rumours."
-- Glyn Johns -- Acknowledged to be the greatest rock
producer, mixer and engineer ever lived. He has worked with
greats such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who
and Led Zeppelin.
-- Hank Neuberger -- (Moderator) A 25-year engineering
veteran and GRAMMY winner. Neuberger has formerly served as
chairman of the Recording Academy(R).
WHAT: SoundTable topics address the most critical, relevant issues
and concerns facing the music and recording community. A panel
is convened of experts from across the country whose
contributions have made a significant impact in their field.
Questions from the audience are encouraged, providing direct
access to the industry's most-accomplished professionals. In
addition, the Recording Academy is proud to present a
one-on-one conversation with legendary Glyn Johns.
