The Cheesecake Factory chefs to prepare the meal
on-site at Bell Shelter;
More than 100 staff members of The Cheesecake Factory
will set up and serve
WHO/WHAT: The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated, based in
Calabasas, Calif., will prepare and serve
Thanksgiving Day dinner for 600 homeless and
low-income individuals and families, including the
350 residents of The Salvation Army's Bell Shelter
program. Chefs and staff of The Cheesecake Factory,
including Chairman and CEO David Overton, will
prepare and serve the meal at Bell Shelter.
In January 1988, The Salvation Army Bell Shelter
opened its doors to help homeless men and women
receive assistance moving from homelessness to
self-sufficiency. Services provided include:
education, counseling, substance/alcohol abuse
rehabilitation, job training/placement assistance,
vocational training and medical services, and
recently (September of 2003), the mental health
assessment and treatment center opened, run by ENKI
Health & Research Systems, Inc., for homeless men and
women who are mentally ill or dually diagnosed with
mental illness and substance abuse.
WHEN/WHERE: Thursday, November 27th -- Thanksgiving Day
