WHY: CSBA's Forecast 2000 Conference brings together the state's
political and fiscal leaders, as well as private sector
economic experts, to provide information and insight into
the fiscal realities of the new year. School board members,
superintendents and other education leaders will receive
insiders' views of the issues and facts shaping the state's
budgetary and legislative policies for 2000.
Issues featured at this event will include the state budget,
Proposition 26 (Majority Vote), as well as other March
ballot initiatives.
During the Forecast 2000 Conference, CSBA will present two
state legislators with awards. Assembly Member Bill Campbell
will be honored as Outstanding Legislator of the Year and
Assembly Member Darrell Steinberg as Outstanding Freshman
Legislator of the Year.
