WHAT: The Canadair CL-415 SuperScooper aircraft will drop 1600
gallons of water as part of a media event hosted by the
Los Angeles County Fire Department. The SuperScoopers, which
are used for crucial initial attack in the fire-threatened
urban/wildland interface areas of California and for wildland
fire fighting worldwide, will augment the County's existing
water dropping helicopter fleet for the next two months the
2000 fire season.
