WHO:    Students who attend Poly Accelerated Academy Learning
        volunteered to paint Goodwill of Long Beach & South Bay's
        100-foot long, 16-feet high mural representing its mission,
        and celebrating the agency's 75th anniversary as a community
        resource. Long Beach Mayor, Beverly O'Neill, will join Long
        Beach Unified School District officials, Council member Bonnie
        Lowenthal, District 1, Long Beach, Goodwill Board, and local
        business leaders for the mural's presentation.

WHAT:   The students attend Poly Academy, a separate campus from
        Long Beach Polytechnic High School, which gives at-risk youth
        a second chance to earn the credits they need to graduate and
        other students an opportunity to graduate early. Janay Cook,
        17; Jasmine Meunier, 17; and Rashard Pittman, 17, spent two to
        three hours every Thursday applying primer, mixing and
        matching paints. Along with their art teacher, Rachaelle Law,
        and Muralist Greg Pickens, they spent close to 2500 hours
        completing this work of art.

WHEN:   Friday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m.
        The unveiling ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. and will
        include a tour of the facility as well as opportunities to
        meet and interview the Poly Academy Accelerated Learning
        (PAAL) students.
