State Controller Kathleen Connell Kathleen Connell was the California State Controller from 1995 until 2003. She is currently President of the Connell Group, an investment advisory firm located in Washington, D.C. Dr.  will be the featured speaker at "The State of Healthcare in California" forum, which is being presented by the State Controller's Office and the Healthcare Collaborative at UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles

Connell will release the findings of a report on California's health-care dilemma, including the growing numbers of Californians lacking health-care insurance despite an economic era of unparalleled growth and prosperity. Currently only 48% of California firms offer their employees health insurance compared with 61% nationally.

Connell will also discuss the fiscal impact in the public and private sectors. An economic forecast will be provided by Mark Schniepp, director of the Center for Regional Economic Research in California. A panel discussion will include E. Richard Brown Richard Brown can refer to:
