In an effort to assist those impacted by the tragedy in Manhattan, Starbucks Coffee Company (Nasdaq:SBUX) and MobileStar Network Corporation are alerting New York area residents that complimentary wireless Internet access is available for communication to family and friends. Those interested may bring their personal wireless devices (e.g., laptop, Personal Digital Assistant, PDA) with a Wi-Fi 802.11b wireless network card into any MobileStar-enabled Starbucks retail location in Manhattan. Additionally, six stores in Manhattan have a Compaq Evo(TM) notebook available for complimentary use. Store addresses are: 1559 2nd Avenue; 400 East 54th Street; 78 Spring Street; 2600 Broadway; 685 3rd Avenue; 750 6th Avenue. Availability for computer use is on a first come, first served basis. Users simply need to launch the Internet browser on their devices to access the MobileStar network. Registration is not necessary.
