The 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund is the official fund of the International Association of Fire Fighters The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) is a labor union representing professional fire fighters in the United States and Canada. The IAFF was formed in 1918 and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO in the United States and the Canadian Labour Congress in Canada. The check presentation to Chief Beck of the Utica Fire Department represents the St. Lawrence School's participation in a multi-state program sponsored and funded by Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Savory Foods. The company supplies fresh cookie dough to organizations for fundraising. Following the September 11 terrorists' attack, Savory pledged to donate a portion of its profits to the 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund on behalf of schools wishing to participate. In addition to the ceremonial check presentation, PTO members and students will serve freshly baked cookies to the local firefighters.
