But through the generosity of Savory Foods, Inc., the cookie dough sale by the St. Lawrence PTO also helped generate funds to aid the families of New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 fire fighters and EMTs lost or injured in the WTC WTC World Trade Center, see there  attack.

On Tuesday, December 18, the PTO members and Savory officials will present a $25,000 check to Utica fire fighters for donation to the NY Fire Fighters' 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund. The 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund is the official fund of the International Association of Fire Fighters The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) is a labor union representing professional fire fighters in the United States and Canada. The IAFF was formed in 1918 and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO in the United States and the Canadian Labour Congress in Canada.  (IAFF IAFF International Association of Fire Fighters

The check presentation to Chief Beck of the Utica Fire Department represents the St. Lawrence School's participation in a multi-state program sponsored and funded by Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Savory Foods. The company supplies fresh cookie dough to organizations for fundraising.

Following the September 11 terrorists' attack, Savory pledged to donate a portion of its profits to the 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund on behalf of schools wishing to participate.

In addition to the ceremonial check presentation, PTO members and students will serve freshly baked cookies to the local firefighters.
