The HTS (high-throughput screening) Technologies Conference will educate attendees about the latest miniaturization and automation technologies. The conference will also examine key business drivers, strategies behind the design and selection of lead candidates and ways to extract useful information from the wealth of data produced. Sessions on cell-based assays, combinatorial chemistry and informatics are scheduled.

Dr. Mark Demesmaeker will chair the Chemoinformatics session, which will feature presentations by Dr. Val Gillet, senior lecturer of Sheffield University, UK, and Dr. Wolfram Altenhofen of Chemical Computing Group AG, Germany.

Prior to joining Spotfire, Dr. Demesmaeker worked for the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland, where he served as the associate professional officer in the Department of Quality Assurance and Safety Medicines. Before joining WHO, Dr. Demesmaeker spent four years conducting research and teaching at the University of Kiel School of Pharmacy in Germany, where he earned a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical chemistry.
