A special screening of TriStar Pictures' and Phoenix Pictures' horror thriller "URBAN LEGEND Myths about anything and everything that barely have a shred of truth in them, yet seem to take on a persistent life of their own. Before the Internet, such urban folklore as "alligators in New York City sewers" was carried in magazines and newspapers. " will be held on Thursday, September 17, at 7:30p.m. at the Mann Village Theatre, 961 Broxton Avenue in Westwood.

Attending from the film will be Alicia Witt, Rebecca Gayheart Rebecca Gayheart (born August 12, 1971, in Hazard, Kentucky) is an American actress. Personal life

URBAN LEGEND -- modern day folktales that seem to arise spontaneously and spread by word-of-mouth--range from the silly (metal tooth fillings receiving radio signals) to the sinister (alligators in the sewers of Manhattan). Students at New England's Pendleton College have an urban legend of their own--thirty years ago, an abnormal psych professor allegedly killed six students and then himself in Stanley Hall. These days, the gory go·ry

When a series of strange deaths occurs on campus, beautiful and assertive student Natalie (Witt) suspects that they are murders based on urban legends. Her classmates Classmates can refer to either:

Urban Legend is a Phoenix Pictures presentation distributed by TriStar Pictures. It is directed by Australian newcomer Jamie Blanks from an original script by Silvio Horta and produced by Neal H. Moritz, Gina Matthews and Michael McDonnell. Executive producer is Brad Luff. Rounding out the production team are cinematographer James Chressanthis, production designer Charles Breen, editor Jay Cassidy and costume designer Mary Claire Hannan.
