EVENT: Special Olympics Texas Black Tie Gala
"Lighting the Way to Inspire Greatness" Black Tie Gala
is an annual event hosted by Special Olympics Texas to
raise funds for year-round sports training and
competitions for Special Olympics athletes. Athletes are
eight years of age and older with mental retardation and
closely related developmental disabilities.
HIGHLIGHTS: The event will include live and silent auctions, music
by the Professor D, and the presentation of "Our Heroes"
awards to four Dallas-Fort Worth community leaders who
have supported Special Olympics Texas:
- Joe Avezzano, Head Coach, Dallas Desperados;
Special Teams Coach, Dallas Cowboys
- Webber Beall, Executive Vice President,
Lincoln Harris Properties; Father of the Uptown Run
- Mike Modano, Center, Dallas Stars
- Scott Murray, Sports Director, NBC 5
