WHO:          Colorado River Board of California (CRB)

WHAT:         With the drought in the Colorado River Basin, the CRB
              is sponsoring a workshop to explore the question of
              what is Southern California's water supply expected to
              be next year?

WHEN:         Wednesday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE:        Board Room, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern
              California (MWD) headquarters, 700 N. Alameda St.,
              adjacent to historic Union Station in downtown
              Los Angeles.

SUMMARY:      The workshop will focus on the severity of the current
              drought in the Colorado River Basin, next year's water
              supply outlook, and the role that California's
              Colorado River Water Use Plan and water transfers will
              play.

              Water officials from the State of California, the U.S.
              Department of the Interior, the Colorado River Basin
              States, and local water agencies will participate in the
              workshop to discuss water conditions along the Colorado
              River and California's outlook for receiving sufficient
              water from the Colorado River to satisfy its demands in
              2003 and beyond.
