(June June: see month. 7) HOLLYWOOD, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 2004 In order to more fully engage the region's residents and elected leaders in discussions impacting the future of the region, the South Florida Regional Planning regional planning: see city planning. Council will conduct at least 4 of its regular monthly meetings in different parts of the region during the upcoming year. The South Florida Regional Planning Council is a regional public policy and planning agency whose board is comprised of elected and appointed officials from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties Monroe County is the name of seventeen counties in the United States, named after President James Monroe:
The Council's next monthly board meeting will be held on Monday, June 7th, at the Hawk's Cay Resort, 61 Hawk's Cay Boulevard, in Duck Key. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend. At this meeting the members of the Council will be considering the Final Draft of the Region's Strategic Regional Policy Plan. The Strategic Regional Policy Plan (SRPP SRPP Strategic Regional Policy Plan (regional land use plan required by Florida's Growth Management Laws) SRPP Sprint Retirement Pension Plan ) considers critical issues, challenges and opportunities facing the region and contains 22 goals that reflect the priority issues of the region. These issues, including affordable housing, school facilities, transportation, and natural resources, are addressed in the context of the SRPP's supporting values: Sustainability, Connectivity, and Responsibility. Indicators and targets are provided for each goal to help determine progress, identify opportunities for improvement and collaboration Working together on a project. Once adopted by the Council, the SRPP will be adopted by administrative rule and used to guide the region's progress in numerous issue areas.
