What: Martin Roesch, founder and CTO of Sourcefire,
Inc., a leader in protecting enterprises and
government organizations against the threat of
network attacks and misuse, is presenting his
insights during a session at the COMNET
Conference, titled "The State of Intrusion
Detection." Roesch will discuss the benefits and
challenges of today's Intrusion Detection Systems
and help attendees establish criteria for choosing
the best IDS for their environments.
In addition, Mr. Roesch will add his expert opinions
to the SecureWorld Expo as part of the IDS Industry
Expert Panel. Roesch will provide insights and real
world examples on detecting threats and protecting
corporate networks against attacks, based on his
experiences at Sourcefire and as creator of the Snort
Intrusion Detection System.
Martin Roesch is a respected authority on intrusion
detection technology and forensics and is responsible
for the technical direction and product development
efforts at Sourcefire. He has 14 years of industry
experience in network security and embedded systems
engineering. Mr. Roesch is also the author and lead
developer of the award winning open source Snort
intrusion detection technology that forms the
foundation for the Sourcefire Intrusion Management
System.
