Directed by Sam Raimi, Spider-Man 2 stars Tobey Maguire as the web-slinging superhero. The film also stars Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson. Spider-Man shattered box office records when it earned more than $114.8 million during its opening weekend. Based upon the world famous superhero that first appeared in a Marvel comics Amazing Fantasy #15 in August 1962, Spider-Man centers on student Peter Parker (Maguire) who, after being bitten by a genetically-altered spider, gains superhuman strength and the spider-like ability to cling to any surface. He vows to dedicate his life to fighting crime. Spider-Man 2 will be produced by Laura Ziskin (Spider-Man) and Marvel Studios CEO, Avi Arad. Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee will serve as executive producer. Charlie's Angels 2(TM): Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu will reunite in Charlie's Angels 2, the sequel to the blockbuster action-adventure, comedy hit released by Columbia Pictures in 2000 and inspired by the phenomenally popular television series. In this new adventure, the captivating crime-fighting trio demonstrate their expertise as masters of espionage, martial arts and disguise as they go undercover to discover the identity of a rogue FBI agent. The new film will be directed by McG and will be produced by Leonard Goldberg, Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen from a screenplay by John August. Executive Producers are Jenno Topping, Betty Thomas and Pat Crowley. A smart, sexy update of the classic '70s television show, Charlie's Angels revolves around three female detectives. As intelligent and multi-talented as they are ravishingly gorgeous and utterly disarming. Under the sure hand of their suave playboy boss, notorious for his clever ways of avoiding face-to-face meetings with his employees, the Angels use feminine charm, high-tech gadgets and hand-to-hand combat to maneuver through the most difficult of investigations. Production will begin in August and Charlie's Angels 2 will be released during the Summer, 2003. TV Properties: "Spider-Man": Based on the legendary Marvel comic book, and fresh off the hit motion picture, the animated series "Spider-Man" follows the adventures of Peter Parker who develops superhuman powers after being bitten by an irradiated spider. Now in college, Peter juggles academics, work as a web designer for the Daily Bugle, an on-again-off-again relationship with the love of his life, fighting super-villains and criminals -- all the while struggling to maintain his secret identity as Spider-Man. The series is being created in a unique computer-animated style, providing a new look for this classic hero. Combining state of the art CG imaging (CG neon noire) processed in a classic feature animation style, the series will combine bright, lively abstract colors including a seemingly realistic neon lit city of the immediate future. "Spider-Man" is slated to premiere on MTV in early 2003. "Stuart Little": Stuart's first-ever animated adventure for television is set to make a "big" splash on HBO Family(R) in December 2002. "Stuart Little" is a 2D and 3D-CGI animated series featuring storylines rich in esteem building and child empowerment. It also highlights the comic contrast between Stuart's small stature and the larger world in which he lives. "Jackie Chan Adventures(TM)": "Jackie Chan Adventures," starring international superstar Jackie Chan and set to kick-off its third season on Kids' WB!, is currently the number two best-rated morning show among boys. An extensive worldwide licensing program is currently underway with over 35 licensees in addition to numerous promotional programs with such partners as Carl's Jr./Hardees. "Harold and The Purple Crayon(TM)": Licensees are continuing to be drawn to one of the most popular children's books of all time, "Harold and The Purple Crayon." With over 40 years of rich literary history based on the popular classic children's book by Crocket Johnson, the "Harold and The Purple Crayon" animated series - which is produced by CTDT Family Entertainment, airs on HBO Family, twice daily, 3 days a week and features acclaimed actress Sharon Stone as the Narrator and original songs composed and performed by Van Dyke Parks. "Max Steel(TM)": Combining extreme sports action, adrenaline pumping adventure, state-of-the-art 3D CGI animation and thrilling story lines, "Max Steel" continues to take it to the "max" airing in international territories worldwide. Game Show Properties: "Pyramid(TM)": One of television's most successful, best-loved game shows returns to daily television this Fall with a contemporary new look and a dynamic new host -- multi-talented performer and personality, Donny Osmond. "Pyramid" combines the best of the classic series with fresh, innovative elements. Two teams, each comprised of a contestant and celebrity partner, race to name words and subjects all related to a specific category, at a lightning-fast pace. The proven game is enhanced with a modern look and style and high brand awareness. "Wheel of Fortune(R)" and "Jeopardy!(R)": "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" have been on the air for nearly 20 years and continue to be big winners in the licensing world. The world's most popular game show, "Wheel of Fortune," can currently be viewed in 54 countries and continues to reign as the #1 program in syndication; "Jeopardy!" is the #1 quiz show in America with original programming five nights a week -- game viewers never get tired of watching -- or playing.
