What: Bay Area gospel favorites the Solomon Brothers will perform
and sign autographs at the Best Buy store in Pinole on
Saturday, June 29 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Solomon Brothers were formed in the late 80's as the
result of founding members Andre Holmes and Lee Chandler's
desire to have a `male chorus' at their church; King Solomon
Missionary Baptist Church in Benicia, Calif.
Andre and Lee selected a few "singing" brothers to be in the
group and with the permission of Pastor, Willie Floyd, chose
the name Solomon Brothers as a way to honor their pastor and
church. To this day, the Solomon Brothers are members of the
church and give a portion of all proceeds to the building
fund.
The Solomon Brothers debut CD, "Running and Don't Look Back",
was released in 2000.
