WHAT: Today's nanometer process geometries require a new design
approach, in which early design planning by logic design engineers is
imperative. Silicon Dimensions Inc. (SDI)(TM), a developer of EDA
tools for IC project teams, will demonstrate how, using the
Chip2Nite(TM) platform, logic designers can now analyze their designs,
fix defects and perform optimization as soon as netlists are produced
from synthesis, dramatically reducing development cycles and costs.
The Chip2Nite platform and technology suites include:
Block Design Planning Suite: Users can find and fix quickly common
issues that are not often found until late in the physical design
process. Logic designers can also produce and deliver a quality
floorplan along with netlists to the physical design team.
Block Design Planning and Analysis Suite: Along with early
analysis capabilities, logic designers can work with their physical
design counterparts to track down placement-related issues and help
correct them, using concise, graphical information in an environment
native to the logic designer.
Timing Optimization Suite: Logic designers can now rectify
physical defects and perform timing optimization before hand-off to
the physical design team. This removes the physical design bottleneck
and eliminates the majority of typical iterations between logic and
physical design, reducing overall development schedules and yielding
significant savings in development costs and time-to-market.
