ADVISORY/Seven Young Women to Learn They Will Be Riding a Royal Float on New Year's Day; October 12 Royal Court Announcement to Reveal the 1999 Tournament of Roses Royalty.

WHAT:     Opportunity to capture the excitement and surprise on the
          faces of the seven newly selected members of the 1999
          Tournament of Roses Royal Court.

          The seven members of the Royal Court will reign over the
          110th Rose Parade, themed Echoes of the Century, and the
          85th Rose Bowl Game on January 1, 1999.

          As ambassadors of the Tournament of Roses, they will attend
          more than 100 community and media functions between October
          12, 1998, and January 1, 1999.

WHO:      After participation in a month-long selection process, seven
          Pasadena-area young women are appointed to the 1999
          Tournament of Roses Royal Court as princesses from a group
          of 29 finalists.  More than 800 young women participated in
          the selection process.

         Parking: Media may park on Tournament house grounds by
         entering the lot off Lockehaven Street, on the south side of
         the property, or they may park on Lockehaven and Arbor
         Streets beside the house.  Parking is limited.

NOTE:    The 81st Rose Queen(R) will be selected on Tuesday, October
         20, 1998, at 8:30 a.m. on the front lawn of Tournament
         House.
