WHAT: Greene, Broillet, Panish & Wheeler, LLP will hold a press
conference on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 10:00 AM at
Santa Monica City Hall to announce the filing of nine
Government Claims for Damages on behalf of clients injured
or killed in the Santa Monica Farmers' Market tragedy of
July 16, 2003. Both injured victims and family members of
those who were killed will participate in the press
conference.
Government Claims for Damages will be filed on behalf of
injury victims, including: Benny Gong, Ilona Lettrich,
Dina Richter, Holley Hankinson, Olivia Wun and
Sandra Ellen Bacal. Claims will also be filed on behalf of
the Estate of Diana Gong McCarthy, the Estate of Kevin
McCarthy, and the Estate of Leroy Lattier.
WHO: Brian Panish and Geoff Wells, partners with the Santa
Monica, CA law firm of Greene, Broillet, Panish &
Wheeler, LLP, will open the press conference. They will
then introduce their clients, who will address the media,
including:
- Ilona Lettrich, an injured victim;
- David Gong (on behalf of his father and injury victim,
Benny Gong, and the estate of his sister, Diana Gong
McCarthy);
- Frank McCarthy on behalf of the estate of his brother,
Kevin McCarthy; and
- Bertha Lattier on behalf of the estate of her son,
Leroy Lattier.
