WHAT:
        Santa Barbara County Association of Governments and local
        elected officials kick-off re-named Highway 101 Implementation
        Plan as 101 In Motion: Creating Transportation Solutions.
        Friday will mark the launch of an interactive project website
        (www.101inmotion.com) and a 24-hour project hotline
        (866-MOVE-101), features that are part of a proactive public
        involvement campaign designed to keep the community involved
        in the decision-making process.

        Friday, February 20, 2004 at 10:00 a.m.

        From Highway 101, take Carrillo Street west, turn left on
        Miramonte Dr. The press conference will be held in the parking
        lot of a vacant office building overlooking the 101 corridor
        and downtown Santa Barbara.

WHY:
        Formerly known as the Highway 101 Implementation Plan, 101 In
        Motion aims to identify and build community consensus around
        viable regional transportation solutions along the South Coast
        portion of the 101 corridor, focusing on the area between the
        Santa Barbara-Ventura county line and Winchester Canyon, north
        of Goleta.
