EVENT: The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia will send more
than 200 area youth to a week-long retreat at Camp Ladore.
Parents and camp staff will be on-hand to register camp
participants and prepare them for departure. The summer
camp is partially funded by proceeds from the Salvation
Army's Tenth Annual Hope Fore Kids Golf Classic, which
took place earlier this month.
As one of the largest of 57 camps operated by the
Salvation Army nationwide, Camp Ladore provides boys and
girls of various backgrounds and cultures, ages 7-12, with
an opportunity to come together to learn about each other,
about themselves, and about their world. The camp
activities, combined with a spiritual component, provide
inner city kids with a recreational, educational, and
positive life experience.
This year marks the Army's TENTH Annual Hope Fore Kids
Campaign. The campaign provides support for year-round
youth programs and services including day care, foster
care, day camps and week-long summer camps, recreation
programs, music programs, and after-school programs in
the Greater Philadelphia area.
