WHAT: The Salvation Army is holding two outdoor concerts this
week. The concerts are part of the Salvation Army's
National Advisory Organizations Conference (NAOC),
happening this week at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The NAOC is the Salvation Army's national convention,
which takes place every four years.
The performances will be from the Salvation Army New York
Staff Band (NYSB) and the Salvation Army's Pendel Brass
and Singers. The NYSB is the Salvation Army's oldest
continuous staff band in the world and has traveled
extensively, performing at Buckingham Palace, the Royal
Albert Hall, and the Sydney Opera House. The Pendel Brass
and Singers is a highly-regarded group of local high
school and young adult musicians.

DETAILS: The Salvation Army's NAOC brings together officers,
volunteers and advisory board members from divisions
across the country to attend workshops on a variety of
topics including program services, advisory board
management and financial management. In addition, local
divisions will share "best practices" with colleagues in
an effort to generate new ideas to support fundraising
and social service programs.
The local division of the Salvation Army - Eastern
Pennsylvania and Delaware - is hosting this year's NAOC.
