This weekend, Rockville artists and designers will hold a 48-hour "Design-a-thon" event to raise money for charity and to "celebrate life" in a community that has been rattled rat·tle 1

In an outpouring of this tight-knit community's desire to show support for one another during the past three difficult weeks, the Design-a-thon has already raised $26,000 from local business leaders and community members.

Members of the media are invited to attend the Design-a-thon launch event on Friday, October 25, from 4 - 7 p.m. at HZDG studios in Rockville. More than 100 local business leaders and community members are expected to attend. Dr. Luther Ampey, cancer expert from Montgomery General Hospital will also participate in the event, to lead a brief discussion on early cancer detection and prevention.
