of Rock and Wrap It Up! founder's parents, both of
whom survived concentration camps in Nazi Germany. The
Allman Brothers joined with Rock and Wrap It UP! in
October 1995, and was one of the first groups to help
fight hunger through Rock and Wrap It Up! They have
been inspirational, physical and financial supporters
of the work of Rock and Wrap It Up! Their efforts and
those of Bert Holman their Manager, has led to tens of
thousands being fed with their backstage leftovers.
Dozens of other bands have been motivated to join Rock

the former Director of Catering for Windows on the
World at the World Trade Center, who perished on
9/11/01. Immediately, David Bouley, whose business was
one block from the WTC, mobilized his restaurant and
resources to become an emergency mess hall providing
over 1,00,000 meals for Ground Zero recovery workers.
Jay Magazine was an active member and booster of Rock
and Wrap It Up! along with its projects and mission to
                feed the needy.

Pi Lambda Phi became the first Fraternity to adopt a
global community service component to their creed for
their Alumni and Brotherhood, and they are receiving
the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Award. The
fraternity's focus was to work with the needy and they
selected Rock and Wrap It Up! as its partner
organization to help fight hunger. Forty-Seven college
and university chapters are now working to help feed
those who hunger. The Late Bill Emerson, United States
Congressman, wanted to feed more hungry people in this
country, so he wrote and helped push through the Bill
Emerson Good Samaritan Act - cornerstone legislation
for all perishable food programs, that was enacted
after his death by President Bill Clinton in November
1996. Its passage and implementation continue to feed
millions more hungry each year. All donors to RWU are
protected from liability by The Bill Emerson Good
                Samaritan Act.

WHEN: Thursday, June 12, 2003
                6:30 p.m - 10:30 p.m.

WHERE: Pier Sixty
                Chelsea Piers, NYC

WHY: Rock and Wrap It Up! encourages bands to incorporate a
rider into their contract that indicates their request
for all edible leftover food to go to a local soup
kitchen or shelter, and then arranges for the removal.
It also works with existing local perishable food
programs such as America's Second Harvest, food
collection and rescue services. Current tours
contracting food recovery with Rock and Wrap it Up! in
their rider include: Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne,
Matchbox Twenty, Elton John and Billy Joel.

Rock and Wrap It Up! Project It's A Wrap has begun
working in the film industry and Revere Pictures
became the first production company to encourage food
recovery from their film shoots. The organization
continues to develop its school and college programs.
It currently partners with Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity
and the National Society of Colligate Scholars.

Rock and Wrap It Up! was founded by Syd Mandelbaum to
honor his parents' survival from Nazi concentration
camps. As a scientist, he is best known for heading
the American team that did the DNA Genetic Sequencing
of Anna Anderson's hair-- disproving the relationship
to the Czar and Czarina Romanov. Mandelbaum also
founded the first DNA roundtable seminar series, New
York and Boston, 1989 to help police departments'
                better use DNA in prosecuting rape and murder cases;
introduced homerun measurement to Major League
baseball in 1991; and to stop future holocausts, in
1981, he started the videotaping of Holocaust
survivors and camp liberators. In 2002, Mandelbaum was
named as a finalist in the New York Post's "Liberty
                Awards."
