ADVISORY/Religious Pluralism and Spirituality in Higher Education to be Explored at Wellesley College Gathering.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- -0-
WHAT: More than 750 presidents, chancellors, students, faculty,
administrators, and trustees from 350 colleges and universities
across the country will discuss impact of religious diversity
and the role of spirituality in higher education.
WHEN: Sunday and Monday, September 27-28
WHERE: Wellesley College Campus in Wellesley, Mass (Route 135)
WHO: The presenters include some of the top educators, religion
professors and religious leaders from across the country. They
include the following:
--Dr. Parker Palmer, Senior Associate of the American
Association of Higher Education, Washington, D.C.
--Diana L. Eck, professor of Comparative Religion and Indian
Studies at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA
--The Rev. Peter Gomes, Plummer Professor of Christian Morals
and Pusey Minister in the memorial Church at Harvard
University, Cambridge, MA
--Dr. Robert Thurman, Jey Tsong Khapa professor of Indo-Tibetan
Studies at Columbia University, New York City
--Vincent Harding, professor of Religion and Social
Transformation at the Iliff School of Theology, Denver,
Colorado
--More than 75 other educators, including 30 college and
university presidents, will lead workshops and panel
discussions.
