WHAT: More than one hundred state, community, military and business
leaders from across California will convene at the
"Partnerships for Preparedness Summit" in Monterey to discuss
issues affecting relationships among the state, local
communities, the defense industry and Department of Defense
assets in California.
Co-sponsored by the Office of Military Support (OMS), within
the California Technology Trade and Commerce Agency, and the
Office of Economic Adjustment under the Department of Defense,
the Summit will consider the effect the civilian and military
defense industry has on California's economy, land use and
operational effectiveness.
The Summit marks the culmination of five regional workshops
held across the state over the past nine months and is part of
a Strategic Encroachment Study being developed by OMS.
