--(BUSINESS WIRE)

AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) See AdvancedTCA.

WHAT: He may have only had three days of batting practice. He may
have only carved his bat from scratch last week. And he
received his golden locks and effortless tan on Thursday. But
he is passionate about baseball and the movies.

Baseball fan and little league coach Bob Hornsby had a movie
fantasy and AMC, the cable network dedicated to the American
movie fan, is about to fulfill it: to be like Roy Hobbs, as
portrayed by Robert Redford from THE NATURAL. And for one
moment this weekend, Bob Hornsby will become that character.

AMC is offering this movie fantasy to Hornsby, as part of its
upcoming original series, CHARACTER STUDY. Hornsby wants to
emulate Robert Redford as Roy Hobbs in THE NATURAL, a
baseball golden boy, who plays a perfect game in front of
thousands of fans. To achieve this dream, Hornsby will get a
chance of a lifetime to bat in the big leagues with the Camden
N.J.-based CAMDEN RIVER SHARKS. Members of the press are
        invited to witness this night.

Prior to this event, AMC has taken him through baseball
practice, strength training, coaching on how to appeal to a
crowd, and carving a bat in the Amish Country. He was even
given the golden highlights and tan face, just like Hobbs,
thanks to a stylist and tanning salon.

WHY: AMC's new series, CHARACTER STUDY, debuting in December, helps
transform an real life movie fan into a character from his/her
favorite film. This half-hour series uses a collection of
experts in wardrobe, demeanor, athletics, styling and anything
else required to make a movie lover live out a
        once-in-a-lifetime film fantasy.

WHEN: Friday, September 5, 8:00 PM

WHERE: Campbell Field, Camden, NJ
