Fall 2002 Booth #7958 ADVISORY...for Tuesday Tuesday: see week. (Nov. 19) --(BUSINESS WIRE)
WHAT: What good are six or sixty billion Web documents if you
can't find the ones you need? Today's search engines
compete against one another by offering the most Web
pages and providing the best matches for the exact
keywords you search on. Soon, these search engines will
be able to understand Web pages the way humans do, and
deliver pages with the concepts being sought, rather than
a simple keyword match. IEEE Spectrum Editor Steven
Cherry and a panel of experts explore the semantic Web
and other tools for finding the best documents on the
Web, and in corporate and enterprise information
databases. The panelists are:
-- Ed H. Chi, Research Scientist, Palo Alto Research
Center (formerly Xerox PARC)
-- Rob McCool, Research Programmer, Knowledge Systems
Lab, Stanford University
-- Prabhakar Raghavan, VP and CTO, Verity, Inc.
WHEN: Tuesday, November 19, 1:00 - 2:15 p.m.
WHERE: COMDEX FALL 2002, Las Vegas Convention Center, North 252
