WHAT: Punk band New Found Glory is slated to appear at Sam Goody
in the Village to greet fans and autograph CDs prior to two
local shows: K-ROCK's listeners concert at Irving Plaza and
their sold-out show at the Bowery Ballroom the following day
where they are scheduled to perform with Cold.
WHO: New Found Glory formed in the summer of 1997 in Coral
Springs, Florida, and are known for their energetic live
shows. Soon after the band formed, they toured the East Coast
and quickly sold out all of their debut EPs, "All About the
Girls." The full-length Nothing Gold Can Stay followed in 1999
and New Found Glory signed with MCA soon after. Their most
recent release, New Found Glory, was released fall of 2000 and
currently sits in the fifth position on Billboard's
Heatseekers chart.
The group is scheduled to perform at a sold-out show at the
city's Bowery Ballroom on April 17 when they will perform with
Cold. Due to increasing support for New Found Glory from
K-ROCK radio, the band will be part of a free show for station
listeners following their Sam Goody appearance on April 16.
