The California High-Speed Rail The California High-Speed Rail project is a proposed high-speed rail system in the state of California. The FRA is one of 10 agencies within the Department of Transportation concerned with intermodal transportation.
 (FRA Fra: see Angelico, Fra; Bartolommeo di Pagholo del Fattorino, Fra; Fra Filippo Lippi under Lippi. ) will hold statewide public hearings to invite comments on the Draft Program Environmental Impact Report and Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS) prepared for compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is a California law (California Public Resources Code section 21000 et seq.) passed in 1970, shortly after the Federal Government passed the National Environmental Policy Act.  and the National Environmental Policy Act.

The 2,500 page Draft Program EIR/EIS determined that high-speed trains are a smart solution for California's growing transportation needs. Public hearing times and locations are as follows:

The Draft Program EIR/EIS demonstrates that the proposed high-speed train system could carry up to 68 million passengers by 2020. It is two-to-three times less costly than expanding highways and airports and will increase mobility, relieve highway congestion The condition of a network when there is not enough bandwidth to support the current traffic load.
