Sports.News/Assignment Editors ADVISORY... for Saturday (May 11) --(BUSINESS WIRE) WHEN: Saturday, May 11, 2p.m.-5 p.m. WHAT: All Sports Day, organized by World T.E.A.M. (The Exceptional Athlete Matters) Sports, is an energetic, educational, active and fun sports mentoring event for nearly 1,000 disabled and able-bodied young people grades K-8 who live in lower Manhattan. Marking the eight-month anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, the primary goal of the day is to give the young participants -- particularly traumatized by the attacks -- a sense of the kindness and courage of humanity and a conviction that they can do great things with their lives in spite of monumental challenges. Sports clinics offered for youth regardless of ability include: gymnastics, rock climbing, cycling/handcycling, baseball, soccer and basketball. The afternoon will conclude with autograph signings by featured athletes. WHO: Professional athletes and legends, Olympians, and Paralympians will conduct clinics and offer instruction on specific sports ranging from basic to advanced skills.
