BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2002

Massachusetts has the third worst record in the country in providing federal food stamps to its residents. What needs to be done to make the program more attractive and accessible for the state's poorest citizens?

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. at The Greater Boston Food Bank, 99 Atkinson St., Boston, the Commonwealth will announce its strategy to enroll more residents in the federal Food Stamp Program The US Food Stamp Program is a federal assistance program that provides food to low income people living in the United States. Benefits are distributed by the individual states, but the program is administered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. .
