The ensemble, which placed Second in the 2000 Essentially Ellington Competition, will be traveling to New York City for the competition and festival, produced by the prominent arts organization Jazz at Lincoln Center (J@LC), where it will compete for more than $11,000 in cash awards and the opportunity to perform with trumpeter and J@LC Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis as a soloist.
