WHAT: Pre-Emmy Party with some 1,000 guests, including
celebrities, more than 700 members of the Young
Presidents' Organization from around the world (and
their spouses/guests), plus a "who's who" of sports,
entertainment, business and civic leaders from Los
Angeles. The event is part of a special Emmy
Experience Weekend sponsored by the Los Angeles
Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC).

WHO: David E. Kelley, recipient of many Emmy, Golden Globe and
Peabody Awards, will be honored by LASEC when he is
presented with the organization's inaugural and prestigious
Sports & Entertainment Award of Excellence. The award was
established to recognize and honor the individual who best
exemplifies the highest qualities of outstanding
achievement in his or her field and, through this work,
projects a positive image for the City of Los Angeles. In
1999, Kelley became the first producer to win Emmy Awards
in the same year in both the Outstanding Drama Series ("The
Practice") and Outstanding Comedy Series ("Ally McBeal")
categories.
