WHAT: A vault explosion occurred today at 1:36 p.m. near Martin L.
King Jr. Blvd. and Marlton Avenue in the Crenshaw District of
Los Angeles. To ensure the safety of the utility workers, six
(6) circuits were de-energized while the cause of the explosion
was being investigated.
WHO: Approximately 8,000 customers were without service for nearly
2 hours. The problem was isolated and service has been restored
to all customers.
WHEN: 1:36 p.m.
WHERE: Crenshaw District near the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
Boundaries: Crenshaw Blvd., Marlton Avenue, King Blvd. and
Coliseum Street
