Where/When:

Heimtextil Trade Show 2001 in Frankfurt/Main from 10 to 13

January

Why:

'Sense & Ability' is the motto we have chosen for the Portugal -

Partner Country of Heimtextil 2001 event because it incorporates

two important aspects of Portuguese culture. 'Sense' in the

various meanings of the word: a sense of logic and purposefulness pur·pose·ful
adj.
1. Having a purpose; intentional: a purposeful musician.

2. Having or manifesting purpose; determined: entered the room with a purposeful look.

and, at the same time, the 'sensual' Portugal with the taste,

smell, sounds, pictures and fabrics of the country. 'Ability'

stands above all for our hand- crafting skills, our design and

creative abilities, especially in the field of home textiles.

After all, Portugal is the world's third-biggest exporter of home

textiles and the number one in Europe.

Visiting us will be like a trip to Portugal: visitors will have

the chance to understand and discover the country via their

senses. Partner Country Portugal will primarily to be found in

Hall 7, the Trend Hall, where the focus is on creativity,

expressiveness ex·pres·sive

Portugal is not just a country that produces high-grade goods but

is also, above and beyond this, a country that can be creative and

innovative. Portugal unifies influences from the whole world in

terms of colours, design, shapes and technologies, and gives the

products a personal touch tailored to the demands of the market

is the most natural thing in the world to give our best, to

achieve a result satisfactory to both sides. Since its founding

nine hundred years ago, the history of the country has been

dominated by humanism humanism, philosophical and literary movement in which man and his capabilities are the central concern. The term was originally restricted to a point of view prevalent among thinkers in the Renaissance. , which in turn is reflected in the humanity

of the relationships with other peoples and still finds expression

today in the country's flexibility and reliability on the world

textile market.

We want to celebrate Portugal's participation in the fair together

with you. In this 'sense', we cordially invite you to visit the

Portuguese pavilion where, in addition to the various exhibition
