WHO:              Pioneer New Media Technologies Inc.
                  Optical Systems Division

WHAT:             At the National Association of
                  Broadcasters' Conference and Exhibition
                  (NAB2001) Pioneer will announce the
                  long-awaited ship date and bundle for
                  the DVR-A03 combination DVD/CD
                  Recordable/Re-Recordable Drive. The
                  drive reads and writes DVD-R (write once
                  For General), DVD-RW (re-recordable),
                  CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM and CD-ROM.

                  Bundle partners for software support
                  include Sonic Solutions, CyberLink and
                  Prassi Software, a Veritas company.

                  The drive will be displayed, along with
                  Compaq's Presario 7000 series
                  MyMovieSTUDIO Solution and Apple's
                  PowerMac G4 733MHz, both featuring an
                  OEM version of the DVR-A03.

                  Other products to be exhibited by the Optical
                  Division include:

                  --    DVR-S201: Pioneer's professional
                        DVD-Recordable drive writes both
                        3.95 and 4.7GB DVD-R for Authoring
                        discs.

                  --    DVD-R media: Full line of
                        DVD-Recordable media including
                        "DVD-R for Authoring" media used
                        with the S201 and "DVD-R for
                        General" media used with the A03;
                        stores up to 4.7GB of content.

                  --    Jukebox storage solutions: The
                        DRM-7000 FlexLibrary holds a
                        maximum of 720 discs with two
                        drives to a minimum of 370 discs
                        with 16 drives. The 100-disc
                        DRM-1004 DVD/CD Jukebox is custom
                        configurable with an internal
                        DVD-Recordable drive. The library
                        display will feature Fiber Channel
                        Network connectivity options from
                        ATTO.
