WHAT: Twin Cities residents will celebrate their enormous giving
efforts as the results of the recent local food drive
collection, supporting Second Harvest Heartland and other
local food banks, will be unveiled by Cub Foods, The Minnesota
Twins and Second Harvest Heartland. The food drive was part of
Cub Foods' 35th anniversary celebration with the goal of
collecting 35,000 pounds of food in 35 days. The food drive
took place from Aug. 31 through Oct. 5, with collection points
at all 44 Twin Cities Cub Foods stores.
To celebrate this momentous food drive feat, a
specially-choreographed, synchronized shopping cart drill team
performance will take place in the Cub Foods Midway store
parking lot. The Coon Rapids High School Marching Band will
also conduct a musical performance and a marching formation.
In addition, 128 finalists of the I LOVE MY CUB window cling
contest will participate in the final contest rounds for the
chance to win a 2003 GMC Envoy, courtesy of Walser.
