      WHAT: European pop/dance group The Vengaboys is scheduled to
        perform and sign autographs at the South Street Seaport on
        Thursday July 12, 2001 at 6:00 p.m.

      WHO: "The Vengaboy's" were originally a group in the making with
        two DJ'S, Danski and Delmundo, who entertained at beach
        parties in Spain and Ibiza. It was in the summer of 1996 when
        they teamed up with four regular fans, Kim, Yorick, Roy and
        Denice, that they officially became The Vengaboys.

          Their first single Up and Down was released in 1997 and went
        to the top five in the Netherlands, Denmark, France and Spain.
        It was also a big hit across Europe, reaching number four in
        the UK. The band has had two number one hits in the UK with
        Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom and We're Going To Ibiza.

          The Vengaboy's first album "Greatest Hits" has turned out to
        be a bestseller. It went platinum in the UK as well a Germany
        and went gold in the US and South America. In March 2000, The
        Vengaboy's released their follow-up album which they titled
        "The Platinum Album," and expect it will exceed all previous
        record sales.
