    WHAT: Shannon Lawson is slated to perform and autograph copies of
          his debut album, Chase the Sun, at City Center in
          Minneapolis on Friday, July 19.

    WHO: Shannon Lawson is originally from Kentucky and began playing
         guitar at the age of four. Shortly after high school, Lawson
         began playing with a blues club act named Top Hat. He toured
         full time with the group until 1993, when he joined a
         bluegrass-based band called the Galoots. He became a prolific
         songwriter and produced two independent albums of original
         material.

         Lawson was named one of the top five new-coming entertainers
         this year by USA Today and his hit single, "Goodbye on a Bad
         Day", is currently number 28 on Billboard's Hot Country
         Singles chart. Other singles include "Bad, Bad, Bad" and a
         bluegrass cover of Marvin Gaye's, "Let's Get It On," which is
         the only track on the album not written by Lawson.

         Shannon Lawson's debut album, Chase the Sun, went on sale
         nationally June 3, 2002.
